Project caps on AI video plans
A project cap limits how many separate projects an account can hold. For a series built as one project per episode, it caps the episodes in progress. From 3 source pages, read 2026-09-25 to 2026-10-25; no maker pays to be listed.
Runway is the page on the sheet with a number: up to 3 projects on Standard and 5 on Pro. Kapwing goes the other way, with unlimited projects on its paid plans.
LTX Studio attaches another limit to the project itself, 3 collaborators per project, so how a series is split into projects also decides who can work on each part.
Most pages say nothing about projects, which may mean no cap or may mean the cap is only visible inside the app.
A cap also shapes how episodes are organised long before it is reached. With only a few projects allowed, episodes have to share projects, which puts characters and clips from different episodes side by side and makes them easier to reuse.
| Tool | Limit | Stated on the page |
|---|---|---|
| Runway | Projects | Up to 3 projects on Standard |
| Runway | Projects | Up to 5 projects on Pro |
| Kapwing | Projects | Unlimited projects on paid plans |
| LTX Studio | Seats | 3 collaborators per project |

2Making the series in practice
Limits aside, the series work behind “Project cap” is described in SceneMixer's guides like this:
The lines are re-heard and written in the language your project is set to, and the finished episode is spoken by the voices attached to your own characters.

A project holds two things: a cast — characters, locations and props, with optional state images — and a list of episodes.
